Transaction Logs
View detailed history of every payment attempt monitored by PaySentinel.
The Log Viewer
The Transaction Log is your primary tool for investigating support tickets. Every time a customer tries to pay, a record is created here—even if they never finish the checkout.
Log Column Details
- Date/Time:
When the attempt occurred.
- Gateway:
Which provider handled the request.
- Order ID:
Links directly to the WooCommerce order.
- Amount:
The total value including currency.
- Status:
Success, Failed, or Pending.
- Reason Code:
The raw error message from the bank.
Analyzing Failures
Failures are color-coded for quick identification. PaySentinel extracts the "Failure Reason" from the gateway response to help you understand the root cause:
| Reason Type | Typical Message | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Declined | "Insufficient Funds" | Customer action required. No issue with gateway. |
| Validation | "CVC Incorrect" | Typo or fraudulent attempt. |
| System | "API Connection Timeout" | Major issue. Server or Gateway is down. |
Bulk Actions
You can manage the size of your transaction database using the bulk actions in the Diagnostic Tools section to archive old records, ensuring the logs remain fast and searchable.
