Understanding Health States
PaySentinel automatically categorizes your payment gateways into three states based on their success rates over the last 24 hours:
Healthy
95% - 100%
The gateway is performing optimally with minimal failures.
Degraded
80% - 94%
An increase in failures has been detected. Check logs for patterns.
Critical
Below 80%
Severely high failure rate. The gateway may be blocked or misconfigured.
Historical Trends
The Gateway Health page provides interactive charts that show how success rates fluctuate during the day. This is vital for identifying:
- Gateway Downtime: Sudden drops to 0% success indicates an outage.
- Bank Processing Issues: Cyclic performance drops during peak hours.
- API Slowdowns: Spikes in response time that lead to checkout abandonment.
Connectivity Verification
Beyond transaction success, PaySentinel performs periodic connectivity checks. This ensures that your web server can actually "talk" to the payment gateway 's endpoints.
Pro Tip: If your Connectivity check fails while Transaction Health is 100%, it might mean your server's IP address is being rate-limited by the provider's API.
